At The Climate Mobilization (“TCM”), we dedicate ourselves to restoring a safe climate and the protection of the personal information of our supporters, members, donors, and website visitors (“you”).
2.0 Information We Collect and Why
2.1 Non-Personal Information
Like most websites, we collect information that cannot specifically identify you. This non-identifiable information includes your internet service provider, IP address, the browser and type of machine you are using, the website that referred you to us, pages you request and the date and time you request them.
We use Google Analytics to gather this non-personal information. Generally, we use this information only in the aggregate to understand how visitors navigate through our website and improve user experience. TCM also places “cookies,” or small files, in the browser files of your computer. We use cookies to save the information you give us so that you don’t have to re-enter it each time you visit our website. This process allows us to personalize the website to your taste and provide the best web experience possible to our visitors.

The only time we collect personal information, or information that can identify you, is when you voluntarily provide that information, such as when you sign up for updates or register to participate in projects or campaigns. This information includes your name, email address, phone number, address, zip code, and credit card information. We will use the information you provided for the purpose you provided it, and we will add you to our mailing list.
As part of our mailing list, you will receive updates on other TCM campaigns or activities. You will also receive information about campaigns or activities of local affiliates, including Climate Mobilization Project (“CMP,” our affiliated 501(c)(3)), or other trusted TCM allies in some instances —such as if our allies are organizing events that further TCM’s mission in your local area. To improve your engagement with our network, we track whether users open the emails we send and click the links within those emails. You can opt-out of these communications at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email we send.
3.0 How We Store Information
Information collected under this policy may be stored by TCM or in databases owned and maintained by our affiliates, agents, or service providers. We currently store our emailing list on the Gmail platform. TCM also uses EveryAction as our contact management system. 4.0 Processing of Credit Card Information
If you choose to donate to TCM, your credit card information will be processed through our secure online payment system, using a third-party payment processor. If you decide to make that donation recurring, our third-party payment processor will store your information. Our payment processors use industry-accepted data collection and encryption methodologies to ensure the your sensitive payment information is secure. Payment information entered on our website is not stored or seen by TCM.
5.0 Sharing Information
5.1 Basic Contact Information
We retain the right to share your name and email address with trusted organizations that share our mission. These organizations include CMP and partner organizations working in your area. We will not share your information with any individual or organization not dedicated to the success of TCM.
5.2 Location Information
We will not share the information you’ve given us on action or event signup pages with unaffiliated groups or individuals without your explicit permission.We treat your name, city, state, and comments as public
information for the Pledge to Mobilize, petitions, letters to the editor, and other similar items you have signed or completed. We will not make your street address publicly available, however we will transmit it to campaign targets (e.g., your elected representatives) specifically noted on the action page.
5.3 Information Related to Donations
TCM does not rent, share, sell, or trade any information related to online or offline donations with any second or third party except CMP.
5.4 Agents, Consultants and Related Third Parties
TCM uses volunteers or hires other companies to perform certain functions (e.g., mailing information, maintaining databases, and processing payments). In doing so, we protect your information by only sharing what is necessary for the third party to complete its work.
5.5 Legal Requirements
We will disclose your information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect and defend the rights or property of TCM, act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of website visitors or the public, or protect against legal liability.

Through our website, you can choose to access certain social media websites and services owned and controlled by third parties (e.g., Facebook and Twitter). TCM reserves the right to change this policy anytime and from time to time without prior notice as necessary to support the movement. This policy was last updated on the date indicated above. Your continued use of the website following changes to this policy indicates your agreement with its new terms.

This policy only applies to information collected by TCM through our website. The policy does not apply to any unsolicited information provided to TCM through the website or any other means. This unsolicited information includes, but is not limited to, information posted to any public areas of the website or affiliated sites. We will treat all such information as public.
