For the last two years, your support was critical in getting members of Congress to support a Climate Emergency Declaration.
Today, we’re thrilled to share the next step: the National Climate Emergency Act.
In the face of rising climate disasters, it’s time for the federal government to use every tool in its toolbox to cut emissions.
The National Climate Emergency Act would give the President additional tools to cut emissions, while creating accountability, oversight and a road map for equitable climate action.
The bill is already supported by at least 50 members of Congress. But it won’t pass unless you tell your Representative and Senators to support it.
Tell Congress to pass the National Climate Emergency Act.
The bill (which you can read here) was introduced in February by Sen. Bernie Sanders, Rep. Earl Blumenauer and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. It has already garnered endorsements from leading climate and environmental justice organizations.
But it won’t get far unless people like you take action.
